Danielle DeLuca, MA, leads Transformare Bellezza in East Hanover, NJ. We asked her about the treatments and questions that have been on her mind lately, from "Is Laser Lipo painful?" to "Which treatment should I book?" Here are her answers, in her own words.
"Laser Lipo + RF has definitely been a big focus for us. One of the biggest misconceptions we get is that it's painful or invasive because people hear the word 'lipo.' It's actually completely noninvasive. Clients usually just feel warmth during the treatment, and I think there's a lot of education we can do around what the treatment actually does, who it's good for, and what realistic expectations should look like."
"I especially like Laser Lipo for areas like the stomach, arms, back/bra area and thighs. It's really for targeting stubborn pockets of fat and helping reduce inches in areas that can be difficult to change through diet and exercise alone. We incorporate radio frequency with the treatment as well to support the skin while we're working on the area."

"I also think it's important that we differentiate Laser Lipo from Venus Legacy because they serve different purposes and I don't want clients thinking all of our body treatments do the same thing."
"If someone is actively losing weight and their main concern is loose or lax skin, Venus Legacy is something I would be more likely to recommend. Venus uses radio frequency and other technology specifically focused on tightening the skin, improving the appearance of cellulite and smoothing the overall look of the treated area."
"Laser Lipo would make more sense when the concern is a stubborn pocket of fat or inches that someone wants to target. Venus would make more sense when the primary concern is loose skin, skin tightening or cellulite. Sometimes someone may benefit from a combination, but it depends completely on their body and their goals."

"We have so many people losing significant amounts of weight, whether naturally or through a weight loss program. Losing the weight is obviously the goal, but that doesn't necessarily mean someone is going to love how their skin looks as the weight comes off. Loose skin, changes in texture and cellulite can become more noticeable."
"That's where I think there's a really good opportunity for education around pairing weight loss with Venus Legacy. Someone may be doing incredibly well with their weight loss but still want to work on tightening their stomach, arms, thighs or another area as their body changes."

"Lymphatic drainage is another service I think people still don't fully understand. A lot of people associate it only with post-op care, but we have plenty of clients who aren't post-op at all. They come in because they feel swollen, puffy, bloated or like they're retaining fluid."
"One of the questions we get all the time is whether you can actually notice a difference after one lymphatic drainage session. Many clients do notice a difference in how they look or feel immediately afterward, although obviously everyone is different."

"Instead of marketing everything as individual treatments, we can start educating clients on how different services address different concerns. Weight loss addresses overall weight. Laser Lipo targets stubborn areas and inches. Venus Legacy focuses on loose skin, tightening and cellulite. Lymphatic drainage addresses fluid retention, puffiness and supporting lymphatic movement. They're different tools depending on what someone is trying to accomplish."
"With fall coming, I also think we should start shifting some of the conversation toward skin. This is when I personally like talking more about treatments like microneedling with SkinPen, Green Sea Peel and Carbon Laser Peel, especially for people who are coming out of summer concerned about pigmentation, texture, acne marks, enlarged pores, dullness or just wanting to get their skin back on track."

"Green Sea Peel specifically is something I really want us to educate people about because most clients have never heard of it. We often describe it as 'liquid microneedling' because that makes the concept easier for people to understand."
"It's different from a traditional chemical peel because it doesn't rely on traditional peeling acids. It uses marine-derived ingredients and microscopic sea sponge spicules that work within the surface of the skin to encourage exfoliation and skin renewal."
"It's a treatment I really like for acne marks, hyperpigmentation, uneven texture, enlarged pores, dull or rough skin, fine lines and overall skin rejuvenation. I've really been absolutely loving the Green Sea Peel for mature skin."

"There can be a prickly or sandpaper-like sensation following the treatment, along with redness and then some flaking or peeling over the following days. Everyone's skin responds differently, and I think it's important to educate people that the amount of visible peeling isn't necessarily what determines whether the treatment worked."
"That's something that gets overlooked on social media. We screen clients before performing the Green Sea Peel. Someone with a shellfish or seafood allergy or an allergy to any of the ingredients would not be a candidate. We also need to be cautious with things like active eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis in the treatment area, sunburn, open or compromised skin, conditions that may interfere with healing, and recent Accutane/isotretinoin use."
"Because Green Sea Peel does not rely on the traditional AHA/BHA acids found in many peels, it may be an option for some pregnant clients. I would still want our messaging to say pregnancy-friendly with provider/OB clearance rather than making a blanket statement that every pregnant woman can receive it. We always want safety and proper screening to come first."
Prep and aftercare, because "those are things people want to know before committing to a treatment." Danielle's list: "when clients should stop retinol, acids and exfoliation beforehand, what their skin may feel like during the first few days, when they may experience flaking, why they shouldn't pick at their skin and the importance of protecting their skin from the sun afterward."

"Another question we hear constantly in general is, 'Which treatment should I book?'"
"I don't necessarily want every piece of content pushing someone toward one specific service. I want to position Transformare as somewhere you can come in, tell us what's bothering you or what your goal is, and we help determine what treatment or combination of treatments makes the most sense for you."
"A client shouldn't have to diagnose themselves based on something they saw on Instagram. Sometimes someone comes in convinced they need one treatment and, after actually looking at their concerns and talking about their goals, there may be something completely different that makes more sense."
"That's especially important with body treatments because 'I want to work on my stomach' could mean completely different things. Is it stubborn fat? Loose skin? Cellulite? Bloating or fluid retention? A combination? The answer to that determines whether we're talking about Laser Lipo, Venus Legacy, lymphatic drainage or potentially combining treatments."
"Overall, I want our content to feel educational but still approachable," Danielle says. "Whether it's about their skin, body contouring, lymphatic drainage, weight loss or a specific treatment, I want them to feel like they understand what we do and why we do it. Then when they are ready to book, there's already a level of familiarity and trust with Transformare because we've been educating them instead of just selling to them."
